Dzinpa Rangdröl: "Self Liberation of Clinging"
with Tulku Sang ngag Rinpoche

May 15 - 24, 2009

Tulku Sang ngagThis retreat will introduce the Dzinpa Rangdröl, a terma cycle of Do Khyentse Yeshe Dorje, combining Dzog Chen and Chöd, Guru Rinpoche and Yeshe Tsogyel, Machig Labdrön and Phadampa Sangye. It is a complete cycle from the preliminaries through the highest Dzog Chen practices.

Part One: May 15 - 18 Ngondro (The Preliminary Practices)
The first days will introduce the Yang Sang Khandro Tug Tig Ngondro (Exceedingly Secret Heart Essence of the Dakinis Preliminary Practice), with a thorough practical instruction on this esoteric ngondro. Ngondro is a demanding process that is undergone laying the foundation for any practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism who wants to receive higher teachings. We will also provide space for the ngondro practitioners to stay on and do a practice retreat during Part 2 (May 19-24). During this time we will offer several question and answer sessions for the ngondro people with Rinpoche so you can stay on and get established in the practice if you wish.

Part Two: May 19 - 24
Prerequisites: Part one (above) and strictly for those who have finished another Ngondro and have done 10% of the Yang Sang Khandro Tug Tig Ngondro or those who have completed the entire Yang Sang Khandro Tug Tig Ngondro.
During this part of the retreat Rinpoche will teach other practices from the Dzinpa Rangdröl, including the White Dakini Chöd and Troma. Tulku Sang ngag received this entire cycle in great depth twice, from Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. He has decided to transmit the Dzinpa Rangdröl here at Tara Mandala, a process he began in the summer of 2008.

Tulku Sang ngag Rinpoche, the sixth Gochen Tulku, is an incarnation of Gyalwa Chokyang, one of the close disciples of Padmasambhava. Recognized at the age of three, Rinpoche began learning religious rituals and liturgies, as well as traditional Tibetan medicine, at an early age. Rinpoche met his root guru, Tulku Orgyen Chemchok, in a Chinese prison where he was held for nine years. Here he received teachings and secret transmissions. Upon release, Rinpoche met his other root teacher, H.H. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, with whom he traveled, studied, and practiced intensively for nearly fourteen years. Rinpoche teaches worldwide and oversees his two retreat centers in Pharping: Yuloko Nunnery and Phurpaling, a dharma center in Taiwan and his U.S. retreat center, Ewam Sang-ngag Ling, located in Arlee, Montana.
