Nature of Mind: Meditation of Direct Perception
Lama Wangdor Rinpoche
May 8 - 11
Lama Wangdor Rinpoche will be
teaching from the text Tsig Sum Ne
Deb or “Three Words That Strike to
the Heart of the Matter” as taught
by Garab Dorje. This is a heart text
in the Nyingma Longchen Nyingthig
Lineage with commentary by Patrul
Rinpoche on the Nature of Mind. The
teachings include showing the View
of the Nature of Mind, instructions
on doing the meditation and the post
meditation experience. It is said that
by dedicating one’s self to this practice,
full enlightenment can be achieved in a
single lifetime. This is a heart practice
that Lama Wangdor has spent 30 years meditating on in the cave of
Guru Rinpoche at Tso Pema.
As well as the Nyingma lineage teachings, meditation sessions include
pointing out instructions from the Kagyu Chagchen teachings embodied
in the texts and poetry of the Songs of the Mahasiddhas. Since each student
is unique in their understanding and their karmic perceptions, there can
be great blessings and benefit to receiving the (inherently non-dualistic)
teachings on the nature of mind from both perspectives and lineages.
Lama Wangdor Rinpoche is a Tibetan Buddhist monk and teacher. Through decades
of solitary meditation, retreats and practices he has achieved deep realization and is
respected worldwide as a venerable teacher and a master of “Direct Mind Perception”
(Dzogchen) Meditation. Lama Wangdor has a profound commitment to making
Buddhist philosophy and teachings accessible to everyone with a sincere interest.
He has spent more than 30 years meditating in the caves first used by the Tibetan
saint, Padmasambava, above Lotus Lake (Tsol Pema) in the Himachal Pradesh region
of Northern India. Wangdor Rinpoche holds both Nyingma and Kagyu Dzogchen/Chagchen lineages and is considered a Remay (ecclectic) teacher.
