![]() Tara Mandala Community Building Sustaining Sangha is the everyday love that keeps Tara Mandala alive, and it forms the pillars that support the roof over the Sangha. As one visiting member said recently, "Donating for the buildings is very important, but for me being a member of Sustaining Sangha is about a heart connection with Tara Mandala. I feel very strongly about it." Bordered by the San Juan National Forest and Ute Tribal Land on 600 acres near Pagosa Springas in Southern Colorado, Tara Mandala Retreat Center is rooted in the Buddhist tradition, a partnership with earth, animals, family, and respect for all wisdom traditions. The land offers deep silence, vast views, and an unparalleled play of light and rainbows that engenders a natural experience of the union of emptiness and radiance. Inspired by the vision of a Western retreat center and by the need to create a place for the reemergence of the sacred feminine, Tsultrim Allione founded Tara Mandala in 1993.
