Artemisia Artemisia

Common Names: Wormwood
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has
antiseptic, muscle relaxant, and mild antidepressant properties. Artemisia
is said to be a tonic for the stomach, stimulate the gallbladder, prevent
and release stones and adjust weak digestive problems. It is used to treat
anemia, the digestive system, stomach pains, rheumatism, roundworms and
threadworms (by increasing bile secretion).
Aspen Bark
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has been used
for the urinary system, heartburn, reducing fever, relieving headaches,
female disorders, and toning mucous membranes. Aspen may also have astringent
and diuretic properties.

Balsamroot
Balsamorhiza sagittata
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has traditionally
been used as an expectorant, anti-fungal, and anti-microbial. Also used
to soften dried mucus in the lungs, and stimulate saliva, the immune system,
and sweating.
Bergamot Monarda didyma
Common Names: Bee Balm, Wild Oregano, Gold
Melissa, Indian Nettle, Oswego Tea and Scarlet Monarda.
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Bergamot may
be helpful for colds, coughs, nausea, sore throats, colic, colds, fever,
stomachaches, nosebleeds, headaches, insomnia, heart trouble, measles,
inducing sweating, and expelling worms and gas.
Betony Pedicularis
ssp.
Common Names: Wood Betony, Lousewort Betony
and Elephant Head.
Medicinal Properties and Use: Can be used
as a tranquilizer for adults, sedative for children, mild relaxant for
skeletal muscles, an astringent, and an antiseptic. Betony has also been
used for treating inflammatory diseases, fevers, and calming anxiety and
tension.

Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has been used
for heart trouble, inflammation of the membrane around the lungs, increasing
milk flow after childbirth, purifying the blood, and relieving skin problems
and diseases. Was once used as a cure for insanity.
Blessed Thistle

Medicinal Properties and Use: Has been used
to help liver ailments (stimulates production of bile), congestion, inflammation
of the lungs, respiratory infections, asthma, appetite loss, digestion,
constipation, dropsy, fevers, gallbladder, headaches, jaundice, balance
hormones, increase mother's milk, rid system of tumors, stop bleeding,
resolve blood clots (blood purifier), amenorrhea (absence of the menstrual
cycle after the onset of menstruation), worms, and strengthen memory,
heart and lungs.

Common Names: Bugloss, Burrage and Langue
de Boeuf.
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has been used
for fever, cough, sore throat, colds, lung decongestent, expelling poisons
of all kinds (due to snake bites, insect stings), itching, ringworms,
tetters, scabs, sores, ulcers, jaundice, increasing sweating, treating
the entire digestive system (causes gentle bowel movements), stimulating
the flow of milk, loosening phlegm, restoring vitality after a convalescence,
nervous conditions, pleurisy, peritonitis, heart, and adrenal glands.
Burdock Arctium

Common Names: Beggar's Buttons and Cocleburr.
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Can be used
as a blood cleanser, kidney/gallbladder detoxifier, anti-parasitic, liver
purifier, immune stimulator, hormone balancer, fungicidal, antibiotic,
and lymph cleanser. Also used for skin conditions (eruptions, acne, psoriasis,
dandruff), gout, cancer, rheumatism, over-acid conditions (such as herpes,
kidney and bowel inflammation), urinary-genital tract, increasing perspiration,
coughs, colds, sore throat, lowering blood sugar, stimulating the digestive
juices and bile secretion (for anorexia nervosa, digestion and appetite

Calendula officinallis
Common Names: Marigold
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has been used
as an anti-inflammatory, astringent, antiseptic, and detoxifier. Calendula
also heals wounds, treats chronic infections, drains swollen lymph glands
(such as tonsillitis) and is a cleansing and detoxifying herb.
Catnip Nepeta

Common Names: Catmint
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has traditionally
been used for controlling fever, colic, colds, flu, inflammation, pain,
stimulating the appetite, aiding digestion, relieving painful menstruation,
promoting menstruation, chronic bronchitis, diarrhea, and is a sedative.

Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has traditionally
been used for sore lungs, coughs, promoting menstruation, diarrhea, and
kidney trouble.
Cleavers Galium

Common names: Bedstraw, Coachweed, Clives,
Goosegrass, Gosslingweed, Hedge-burs and Sweethearts.
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has anti-parasitic,
anti-bacterial, and anti-viral properties. Cleavers has been used to help
eczema, psoriasis, arthritis, lower blood pressure, purifying the blood,
boost the immune system, ulcers and tumors, (breast) cancer, cool the
body during fevers, cystitis, urinary conditions, clean gravel and urinary
stones, stimulate the lymphatic system, and relieve swollen (lymph) glands.

Medicinal Properties and Uses: Comfrey has
traditionally been used for treating lung cancer, wounds, bones, and demulcent
in colitis.
Corn Silk Zea

Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has been used
as a mild stimulant, diuretic and demulcent. Corn silk may also be used
for acute and chronic cystitis, kidney stones, bladder irritation, phosphatic
gravel, and for treating gonorrhea.

Dandelion
Taraxacum officinale
Common Names: Priest's Crown and Swine's Snout.
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has traditionally
been used as an immune stimulator, blood cleanser (especially for the
liver), mild laxative, digestive, diuretic, bitter, and kidneys strengthener.
Dandelion may help breast cancer, loss of appetite, warts, cancer, lung
infections, increase bile to intestines, and is active against tumor systems.
Dandelion may also be helpful for clearing emotional history and enriching
deepening, grounded wholeness. Can be taken when arriving to a new place,
moving, and adjusting to jet lag.
Fir Shoots

Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has traditionally
been used for fevers, chest colds, asthma, lung troubles, clearing out
the respiratory tract, chest pains, gonorrhea, rheumatic joints, and "cleaning
out the insides". Fir shoots also have stimulant, diuretic, and mild
antiseptic properties. Emotional properties may help with grief, sadness,
depression, loss of inner strength, and anxiety.

Garlic
Allium sativum (Liliaceae)
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Can be used
as an antibiotic and an expectorant. Garlic may also help hypotension,
expel worms, increase sweating, and prevent or relieve spasms or cramps.
Gumweed Grindelia
Common Names: Gumplant and Curly Cup.
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Its anti-spasmodic,
expectorant and hypotensive properties find applications in treating heart
conditions, bronchitis, coughs, asthma, the respiratory system and the
cardio-vascular system. It has been used in the treatment of whooping
cough, hay fever, bladder inflammations, and cystitis.
Hawthorne
Crataegus oxyacantha
Common Names: Mayblossom, Whitethorn and Hagthorn.
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Hawthorne has
been used as a diuretic, astringent, relaxant, and antioxidant. It has
also been used to dilate the blood vessels (increased blood flow and restore
normal heartbeat) and increase enzyme metabolism in the heart muscle.
Horsetail Equisetum
Common Names: Scouring Rush and Shavegrass.
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has traditionally
been used for urinary tract disorders (especially lower), reducing bleeding,
gonorrhea, treating irregular menstruation, eye and skin treatment, strengthening
the heart and lungs, and overall system booster. Horsetail is significant
support of cartilage and joints, helpful in arthritis and joint pain.

Common Names: Antelope Horns and Spider Milkweed.
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has traditionally
been used for congestive heart disorders, bronchial dialator, mild cardiac
tonic, asthma (stimulates lymph drainage from the lungs), bronchitis,
lung infections, pleurisy, menstrual stimulant (tardiness or stimulating
scant menstrual flow), nerve stimulation and perspiration at the onset
of an infection, laxative effects, and stimulating transition from colestrum
to milk.
Warning: Inmortal MAY cause miscarriage!
Juniper Berries
Juniperus communis
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has traditionally
been used as a diuretic, anti-microbial, urinary antiseptic, gastro-intestinal
antiseptic, and anti-rheumatic. Juniper has also been used for easing
colic, supporting the function of the stomach, expelling wind from the
bowels, promoting menstruation, stimulating diuretic in cystitis, chronic
arthritis, and helps relieve fluid retention (but should be avoided in
cases of kidney disease).
Lavender Lavandula
angustifolia
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Traditionally
lavender has been used to relieve gas, muscle spasms, stimulate blood
flow, cure headaches (especially when related to stress), and to clear
depression. Lavender may also have antiseptic and antibacterial properties.

Common Names: Melissa
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Can be used
for relieving spasms or cramps, increasing sweating, relieving gas, cold
sores, calming nervous spasms, insomnia,
colic, eczema, headaches, hearth spasms, herpes,
nerve tonic, mild depression, and
the treatment of psychiatric problems, including dystonia. Has relaxant,
sedative, anti-viral, tranquilizing, and anti-histamine properties.
Lemon Verbena
Verbena officinalis (Verbenaceae)
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has been used
for calming nerves, relieving stress and anxiety, stimulating bile secretion,
infected gums, hemorrhoids, improving digestive function, and treating
insomnia. It has tonic, mild sedative and restorative properties.
Liquorice Hyssop Hyssopus
officinalis (Labiatae)
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has been said
to have anti-spasmodic, expectorant, anti-inflammatory, and hepatic properties.
It is used for coughs, bronchitis, tight-chestedness, respiratory catarrh,
sore throat, common cold, and to increase sweating. As a sedative, hyssop
is a useful remedy against asthma in both children and adults, especially
where the condition is exacerbated by mucus congestion.

Common Names: American Cowslip and Elkslip.
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has been used
for stimulating mucus in lungs, digestive tract, uterus, loosing dry mucus
in bronchials and sinuses, treating colonic spasms, and lower back pain.
Marsh Marigold is a diuretic, a laxative and an expectorant.
Milk Thistle
Silybum marianum
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has traditionally
been used for liver disease, protecting liver cells, cancer, hepatitis,
cirrhosis, and to clean the body of toxic chemicals. Milk thistle also
is an antioxidant and decreases insulin resistance.
Mullein Verbasci

Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has been used
to treat the throat and lungs and is a mild sedative. Mullein can be useful
for soothing mucous membranes, chest colds (initial stages of infection),
asthma, bronchitis, coughs, kidney infections, diarrhea, migraines, cramps,
and fevers.

Medicinal Properties and Uses: Onion is an
antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antiseptic, expectorant, and a stimulant.
Onion has been used for colds, flu, warding off bacteria or fungi, stopping
fermentation in the intestines, stopping vomiting, and lowering "bad"
LCL cholesterol.

Jaundice Berry, Sowberry, Holly Grape and Yerba Sangre.
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has been used
for stimulating the auto immune, liver malfunction, liver tumors, reducing
enlarged spleen, dilating the blood vessels which lowers blood pressure,
decreasing heart rate, depressing breathing, the digestive system (stimulates
intestinal movement), hepatitis, colic, jaundice, diabetes, malaria, killing
parasites, treating protozoal infection due to Leishmania, killing bacteria
on the skin, increasing bile flow to intestines, reducing bronchial constriction,
cancer, cleansing the body (especially the stomach and the bowels), and
alleviating nausea and vomiting.
Warning: Avoid during pregnancy. Large doses
harmful.

Medicinal Properties and Uses: Peppermint
helps with indigestion and relaxes the muscles of the digestive tract,
eases nervous headaches, relieving wind, flatulence, bloating, colic,
increasing sweating, stimulating secretion of bile, relieving colon spasms
and ulcers.
Pine Pinus
Medicinal Properties and Uses: Has traditionally
been used for treating skin problems and bringing greater blood supply
to the area, rheumatic affections, dandruff, diseases of the mucous membrane,
and respiratory conditions. Pine also promotes urination and is an expectorant.
Emotional treatments have been used to develop joy, heal disharmony, bring
tranquility, and treat mental exhaustion.
