Open Meditation Group at Tara Mandala This spring, Tara Mandala is again offering the opportunity to gather for group meditation practice, discussion of Buddhist practice and philosophy, and time to connect with others in a relaxed atmosphere. Meditation allows us to calm our minds, gain clarity about our emotional state, and gain insight into the nature of reality. The group’s intention is to support ongoing and regular meditation practice. This is a chance to develop a regular weekly practice, to meet others interested in Buddhism, and to support your ongoing meditation practice and Dharma study. We will begin by focusing on the Six Paramitas, or the Six Perfections, which are the six principles of enlightened living including generosity, morality, patience, diligence, contemplation, and wisdom. The practice of these helps us develop bodhicitta in relation to our daily lives. Tara Mandala residents, Tibetan Buddhist Nun Anila Annalis Jazer Khandro and Julia Jean, Director of Education, will facilitate the Sunday afternoon teachings. No previous meditation experience is required, and although you are encouraged to attend regularly, drop-ins are welcome. There is no charge; donations are welcome. When: 4:30pm – 6:30pm, Sundays, beginning April 26 Where: Second Floor of the new Tara Temple (Eastern Room) What to Bring: A snack to share. Tea will be provided.
