Kapala Training Level I:
The Teachings of Machig Lapdrön

with Tsultrim Allione

June 30 - July 6, 2007

This Three Level Training offers an in-depth exploration of the Chöd teachings of 11th century Tibetan yogini Machig Lapdrön, the related Mahayana teachings of Prajna Paramita, as well as the practice of Feeding the Demons developed by Tsultrim Allione. The Training is designed both for professionals who can apply these practices to their healing work and for individuals wishing to work deeply with their own 'demons' through contemplative practice.

Chöd is widely used as a spiritual path with secondary applications to heal illnesses, stop epidemics, and address obstacles, spiritual emergencies and critical eruptions. Drawing on Mahayana teachings of the Prajna Paramita, Machig's teachings also include insight on the nature of mind. These later developed into Maha Mudra and into some lineages of Dzog Chen.

Level I will be an introduction to the nature of demons as taught by Machig and the Tibetan and Indianroots of her teachings. We will also explore the 'Feeding the Demons' process based on the principles expressed in Chöd, and using painting, clay work and other modalities, will discover the nature of our personal, family and collective demons. Compassionate nurturing rather than battling outer and inner challenges develops the potential for deep healing and the experience of non-dual awareness.

Licensed healing professionals will learn to apply this work to their professional therapeutic settings. This course meets the qualifications for 20 hours of continuing education credit for MFCCs and LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Course Price: $450 - $600
Sangha Member Price (15%/10%): $383/$405

Suggested Dana: $120 - $240
