Magyu Gathering – Honoring the Mother Lineage

“Even the stains of karma, once ripened, are unable to affect the natural purity of suchness of all phenomena.”

~ Machig Labdrön

We are pleased to announce our inaugural, Magyu Biennial Gathering: An Honoring of the Mother Lineage (August 5 – 10) with Lama Tsultrim Allione, Magyu Dorje Lopön Charlotte Rotterdam and Lopön Karla Jackson-Brewer, M.S., offered on the land this summer at Tara Mandala. This special retreat will provide a long-awaited opportunity to connect in-person with our cherished sangha and to dive deeply into the teachings of Machig Labdrön, while immersing ourselves in the natural beauty of the surrounding environment.

In this video, Lama Tsultrim shares an invitation to the Magyu Biennial Gathering.

In this retreat, you will receive teachings from the Chöd lineage and engage in daily Chöd practice. Virtual teachings will be given by Lama Tsultrim Allione and other teachers will give special dharma talks. We will focus our group practice on the Chöd of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche in the evenings, and will have opportunities to include the practice of Dentog Chigma Chöd for those who are familiar and have received the transmission.

In this retreat, you will experience:
Morning Prajnaparamita practice on Prayer Flag Ridge.
Evening closing sessions in the main shrine room of Chöd practice.
An optional overnight wilderness stay in the Kapala meadow, practicing the Chöd Dulzhug Pilgrimage.
Sessions that will include breakout groups for specific discussions, integrative Magyu practices (such as Feeding Your Demons®), instrument mastery workshops as well as special dharma talks to deepen our understanding and connection to our Chöd lineages.

MAGYU

The Mother Lineage

Tara Mandala extends a warm invitation to all of Lama Tsultrim’s students who are members of the Magyu program. An honoring of the Mother Lineage through this first Magyu Gathering is an acknowledgement of our shared commitment to hold this fresh stream of teachings from our beloved teacher, Lama Tsultrim, and is a recognition of our karmic connection to the great yogini, Machig Labdrön.

For those who would like to apply for Magyu, this is an opportunity. Upon being accepted into Magyu, you will be able to register and attend the Magyu Biennial Gathering retreat in August.
