Lopön Polly Ryan, MA, MFT

Lopön Polly Ryan, MA, MFT, has been a devoted student of Lama Tsultrim Allione since 1992.   She has a BA in music performance, a certificate in Music therapy, a master’s degree in counseling psychology, and has been a licensed therapist in California and Nevada for 40 years. Feeding Your Demons® is an important power tool in her psychotherapy practice. She has studied with Lama Tsultrim for over thirty-two years in the lineage of Machig Labdrön and is in the Maygu, Gateway, and Ösel Nyingtig programs. She serves as a senior authorized teacher and Kaliyanamitra for Tara Mandala students. She founded the Northern Sierra Tara Mandala Sangha in 2010 which continues to hold online book studies and weekly practices. She has led and assisted many retreats in person and online for Tara Mandala including Prajna Paramita, Feeding Your Demons®, Chöd, the Mandala practices, the Three Yanas, and Ösel Nyingtig. In 2023 she co-led a Rinchen Trengwa research pilgrimage to Druk Zangri Khamar in Bhutan. Under the tutelage of Lama Alan Wallace she has studied and practiced Shamatha, Seven Point Mind Training, the Four Immeasurables, and Dzogchen. She has received Kalachakra and Dzogchen teachings from H. H. the Dalai Lama and studied with Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche, Tulku Sang-ngag Rinpoche, Drupön Lama Karma, Khenpo Urgyen Wangchuk, Chagdud Khadro, Lama Willa Baker, and Wendy Garling. Her passion is to bring to life the stories and wisdom of the women in Buddhism. She is a mother of three grown children, and a grandmother. She is currently living at Tara Mandala serving as Assistant Resident Teacher.
