In this course, Lopön Chandra Easton, Buddhist teacher, scholar, and Tārā Mandala’s Assistant Spiritual Director, reveals the 21 aspects of Tārā, the female Buddha of Compassion. Tārā is also an archetypal representation of the human qualities and skillful means we all have within us, including but not limited to, deep compassion.

Tārā Thirteen: Drölma Yullay Gyaljéma (Skt. Tārā Ripu Cakra Vināśinī)

Tārā Sixteen: Drölma Rigngag Tobzhoma (Skt. Tārā Kiraṇojjvalā)

Drölma Rigngag Tobzhoma joyfully pacifies all curses and spells, bringing peace, love, and compassion into the hearts of all beings.

Week 4

Tārā Seventeen: Drölma Pagmé Nönma (Skt. Tārā Aprameyākramaṇī)

Drölma Pagmé Nönma eradicates all forms of violence and cruelty, thus she is known as the “Tara of Nonviolence.”

Tārā Eighteen: Drölma Maja Chenmo (Skt. Tārā Mahāmāyūrī)

Drölma Maja Chenmo, the “Great Peacock Goddess,” protects the world and all beings from poison and pollution. She is especially renowned for protecting children.

Week 5

Tārā Nineteen: Drölma Dugkarmo (Skt. Tārā Ajitarājñī)

Drölma Dugkarmo, “Invincible Queen of the White Umbrella” protects beings from nightmares, bad omens, and misfortune. She destroys all obstacles and future dangers, bringing calm and peace to all.

Tārā Twenty: Drölma Ritrö Loma Gyönma (Skt. Tārā Śabarī)

Drölma Ritrö Loma Gyönma, “Noble Lady of Mountain Retreat Who is Clothed in Leaves” heals all contagious disease and deadly epidemics.

Tārā Twenty-One: Drölma Lhamo Özer Chenma (Skt. Tārā Mārīcī)
