Treasury of Precious Qualities Part II

with Khenmo Tsering Lhamo

October 10 - November 21, 2026

with Khenmo Tsering Lhamo

Tara Mandala is honored to host the second part of Khenmo Tsering Lhamo’s public teachings on the Treasury of Precious Qualities: Book One.

“Treasury of Precious Qualities: Book One is a translation of the first part of Jigme Lingpa’s Treasury of Precious Qualities, which is a slender volume of elegant verses that sets out briefly but comprehensively the Buddhist path according to the Nyingma school. The concise root text and its use of elaborate poetic language, rich in metaphor, requires extensive explanation, amply supplied here by the commentary of Kangyur Rinpoche.”

It is hard to overstate the importance of Jigme Lingpa to the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. He is considered the incarnation of both the great master Vimalamitra and the Dharma king Trisong Detsen. After becoming a monk, he had a vision of Mañjuśrīmitra, which led him to change from monk’s robes to the white shawl and long hair of a yogi. In his late twenties, he began a long retreat during which he experienced visions and discovered termas. A subsequent retreat a few years later served as the container for multiple visions of Longchenpa, resulting in the Longchen Nyingtig tradition of terma texts, sadhanas, prayers, and instructions.

Important Note: Attendance of Part I of this Teaching Series (or access to its recordings) is required for Part II. If you missed it, you can purchase the recordings below to catch up:

Oral Transmission
In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the oral transmission (Tib. lung) is received directly in real time from teacher to student, carrying the living presence and continuity of the lineage. For this reason, it is not considered received through recordings alone; live attendance is required. Khenmo-la will give the lung for Parts I and II doing this program. We will share the specific date and time when they are confirmed.

Who Should Attend?
Part II builds directly on the foundation established in Part I. This program is open to those who completed Part I, either live or by recording, and who received (or intend to receive) the live oral transmission (Tib. lung).

Program Tuition
$50 – $250 sliding scale, to support Khenmo Tsering’s presence on the land.
